Today I managed to run and swim. I ran a mile in 10 minutes and 6 laps in the pool in 20 minutes. Not an impressive workout by any means…but I made it to the gym and was proud of that. I felt really positive about going in and getting a bit of a workout! I can feel my swimming improve a little as well. I’m a little calmer in the water.

Thursday I went to my spin class for a full hour. I was very proud and it was a great class. I was certainly a little sore after all of that. I plan on riding again on Sunday.

Today I’m getting back into it. I’m playing some volleyball for an hour and hoping to hit the gym for some swimming after that. I’m so surpised at how I haven’t been to the gym in a very long time prior to this week!! I had a lot going on but I’m not making any more excuses. I’m getting back into it and wanting to kick some butt in the tri on June 15th.

I can honestly say I’ve never fallen out of working out like I have in the past month!! I signed up for a tri on June 15th and it’s a sprint distance. I want to be able to make it through the entire race without worrying about how I will finish. I’m very excited to start training for something new! Tonight I’ve got an hour of playing competitive volleyball and then plan on hitting the pool for some laps. I’ve decided that no longer will the gym be my enemy and I plan on making it there every day, come rain, shine, or happy hours!! I’m sure others have fallen out of their workout routine, it’s just no fun to admit it. I ran a sad sorry mile yesterday and that was enough to send me huffing and puffing home. I decided for cardio that I can run a mile and then take a class to get back into shape. Definately looking forward to going on some nice long bike rides and getting back in the pool!
I’m a woman from Saint Charles MO USA, born in 1978.
My goals are: I wish to finish my first triathlon on June 15th. I plan on signing up for several biathlon’s before that time. I also would like to drop about 3 pounds a week during training for the first 6 weeks.
My other favorite activities include: Volleyball and Mountain Biking.
I organize an adult women’s club volleyball team and enjoy camping and mountain biking as well. I’m going to attempt my first tri this summer!
